Driving schools are the best way. And it is not learning about your car 
but learning how to drive all together. For agressive or defencive 
driving I like rally schools. Unfortunatly there is not many in US so I 
periodically go to England. Racing/ rallying also helps but it is not for 
most of us. Very fiew of us know how to drive our Quattros to the limit. 
Most of us don't. That is because we don't know how to drive well at all. 
Although some of us are more careful than others. One has to be tought 
how to drive a car (any car) to the limit. Than one can build experience 
based on correct legitimate knollege. Once all the essential are learned 
one can lear to take any car to its limit safely. Autocross is good, but 
there are schools for that too. Several people I know thought they 
improved big after taking one or too even after substantial experience.
