OE ring caps for aftermarket wheels

Ken et al,

I got four plastic OE BBS mesh-style caps from a boneyard. Because of
the strong epoxy used to put these together, I used a set of tin-snips
to cut apart the caps until only the rings were remaining, plus about 2

mm of plastic on the outside diameter (OD) of the cap (the ACT cap holes

were slightly larger than clear logo part of the OE cap). I then
inserted the freshly cut logos into the ACT lug covers and glued them
in place with a 'metal to plastic' epoxy. They will not fly out if the
epoxy breaks loose, as the lug cover cap hole OD is smaller than the
logo OD. They've weathered about 40k miles so far, ambient temps from
zero to 115 deg F and no problemo.

Hope this helps,

Sarge

Where are these OE rings available? My friend has some of those
same ACT wheels on his '86 4kcsq, and lost a cap. A set of Audi
ring caps would be pretty cool.
