There is a historical example for this...another German car manufacturer in
recent years has drastically lowered spare parts prices, at least in the
US.  That's the one that used to :( make 6 cylinder aircooled engines hung
out back.  Now I don't know the relationship between Porsche AG and Porsche
Cars North America, or the workings between VAG and V/AoA, but since a
certain Herr Piech runs VAG, and the Piech family is a major owner of
Porsche ...nah...that'd be too logical.
