The 1.34" number is correct for the base circle on
hydraulic cams. I'm not sure what you are measuring that is
1.455" and 1.44" though. Another data point is the 87 4kq
cam which has the same base circle and is 1.74" to the top
of the lobe. 1.74-1.34 yields a lift of 0.40". The
Schrick 272 is advertised as having an 11.2 mm lift or
0.44".
Be careful of using lift numbers by themselves to select
your cam. Two cams that appear the same under the caliper
can have very different personalities.
