Puerto Rico was a blast, as usual, but a few complications
spoiled the trip. One was the choppy sea that caused a very
uncomfortable day at sea for me (no Audi-related content),
the massive turbulence on the return flight (none here either)
and a dead 4kq waiting at the airport.
No way to get flatbedded at 2AM, so we rented a car from Hertz
and drove home. I returned the next day with a new battery,
tools and Bentley. Hours later, cap, rotor, plugs, battery,
all new, got the thing to start. My fault for neglecting the
tuneup this long, plus 5 days parked in a damp lot didn't help.
This morning, I discovered that my CQ wouldn't start either.
Enter battery number 2. That's about $300 in auto-related
expenses in only 2 days.
My wife says she's "tired of doing this" so I half-kiddingly
suggested she lease a Golf. She like the idea.
If I do this, anyone interested in a 1985 4kq, Oceanic Blue (rare)
in nice shape? Send me email if you are.
The promised days of thinking about list stuff evaporated under
the hot PR sun, but I am thinking about the list and should have
some news in the next couple of days. Until then, everyone
stay safe tonight, and I'll talk to you next year :)
