I hope I remember this correctly (flame me if I am wrong):
When you change to an oil with better cleaning properties, you can
experience a higher oil consumption for some time. After that the oil
consumption will go back to normal or better. This is because your
piston rings is stuck due to deposits (correct English?). When these
deposits is removed partially, you will get leaks. When all deposits
have gone, the piston rings can move freely, and the leaks will
disappear.
