I agree Scott. It reminds me of some of our early discussions. Quattro is
better day to day for reasons greater than absolute speed. Hopefully those on
the list who are blowing the "kids college fund" on mods for their Q's realize
that the best they will ever have is the fastest Quattro, never a sports car.
Heavy cars are not my idea of an outstanding track car. M3, NSX, Porsches, now
those are track cars. Having said that, I own an Audi for various reason, none
of which are for speed. Would I like to have a faster V8? You bet! But it will
never be a sports car will it. If your looking for absolutely fast, look
elsewhere. I prefer the comfort, amenities and the "think different" attitude of
the Audi. It fits me better, hence a BMW will never find a home in my garage.
Great cars just not for me.
Just curious Scott, was all that bandwidth wasted to signal that you have chosen
a new chassis to modify or just reasserting what I would call common knowledge
among car enthusiasts?
