   I agree. Had the entire system checked out as above when my 5kt ate one
   nine months after I bought it. Fine. As it was the next time one year
   later. Granted I do have a tri-amp audio system, but I don't run it 

Ah, mine's only bi-amped...maybe that's why I can sometimes get two
years on a battery . . .

I guess the cars can somehow glean the *potential* current drain, and
instantiate a virtual current sink to suck the virtual electrons right
out of the battery. Now that's innovative engineering -- I wonder if
they've patented the mechanism?
