Yes !!! Can I get an Amen, here??!!!
I've been reading the various complaints about Audi's shortsightedness
regarding American maketing, its shoddy business practices in general, the
price of parts, the CBS News fiasco, the new Passat's undercutting Audi's
prices, etc.
These are the things that allow most of us to buy an Audi in the FIRST
place. These cars are worth thousands and thousands more than their market
prices, and why? Because, at least until very recently, Audi had its head
up its rear end vis a vis the real worth of its product.
If Audi had been as slick as Mercedes or BMW about marketing...and
marketing includes damage control when the fickle finger of the media
begins to probe sensitive areas of a company's underbelly...we'd all be
driving turbocharged Subaru Legacys and road racing with old Vegas and
Pintos as our peers, spending ungodly amounts on Bondo, and watching Audi
prices climb into the (not so distant, if their current hitting streak
continues) BMW/Mercedes stratosphere.
Buy those 200s + A4/6s now, folks...five years from now they're liable
to command prices equal to the best German ripoffmobiles.
Later...
