Chicago area mechanics? and engine codes

Since my last post was a little vague in location, here we go again (sorry
for wasted bw)

Looking for a reputable mechanic in the Evanston, IL area.  Going to be
taking my 87 4000CSQ there since I am ten thumbs, no tools, and no garage
(yet).  

Listers have given me a couple names and numbers that have worked out,
except have been a little non-local for me.

Evanston is about 20 minutes north of Chicago downtown (loop) for those
that need to know.

Also, on a sidenote, while perusing Audi-Dudi's homepage, I noticed a
letter from Audi about the 2.3L NG engine in 2/87 and later 4kq's.  Is
there anyway to verify this via engine code?  Just another thing my Audi 
(soon to be 11 years old!) has to be proud of.
