My 85 4kq was given liquefied brontosaurus carcasses until I bought it 2 
years ago (along with McLube filters), but, if anything, it showed
decreased oil consumption when I switched it to Amsoil 2000 20w50 pure
synth. Now that its leaky valve-cover gasket has been replaced, it has
sprung no more leaks and uses a about 1 liter of oil every 5000 miles
- probably less, I'm just very conservative here.

I'm about to change the oil to 0w30. I'll let you know if consumption
changes with the lighter weight.
