How Do You Remove Audi/Bose Stereo?

I bought a replacement stereo set up for my '90 V8. Can anyone tell me how
to get the old unit out and whether there are any specific things I need to
watch out for when replacing the unit, while keeping the factory Bose
speaker set up?

BTW, the car now has a cup holder in the front (for shame!!!).
