No, the erratic is the American spelling.  Lots of metals use the -ium suffix.

Californium, for example - a name inspired by America and assigned by Americans.

"Aliminum" is a perpetuated mis-spelling.  Keep on like this, and in a thousand 
years or so you _might_ have a language with some character of its own.
