Audi Turbos..warm up & cool down ?

Dear Friends,
Do the Audi turbos need warmed up and cooled down for before and after useage?
My past experience with a 280ZX Turbo dictated a MUST warm up and cool down of
the turbo...............and even then I had to replace the turbo at 30,000
miles.  Are the Audi's....in my case a A4TQ.....water-jacket cooled? or any
other cooling method used to prevent bearing failures?     I would expect that
if you track event your car, it would be a MUST...............but what about
non aggressive street driving?
Anyone have any thoughts on this ??
