Swiss Cheese Airbox

OK,
WHoever though we were talking about drilling the airbox "AFTER"
the filter is wrong. Obviously you dont want dirty, contaminated, air
with marticulate matter in it coming into your engine. Why would you
invest in a K&N if you were going to do this? Seems obvious to me. :)
Anyhow, there is room in a 4kq or Coupe to drill 3/8" holes on the
cold side of the airbox and under the filter. Most airboxes do as we have
done this to a VW Jetta and a Izuzu Trooper as well. All with good
results. On a turbo engine, it might be hard to get cold air, thus may
not be a good idea, but on the Normally aspirated engines, I think it is
well worth it if you are carfull and dont mind the noise when ont he GAS.
I personally love it.
BTW, is a NA engine, a Naturally Aspirated engine, or is that a
designation like, WX, MC, MB, of something.
Just wanted to clarify this. :)
