DC Event - long

Hi guys/gals:
Sorry for the lateness of this note, but here are the plans for the event
(and croos your fingers that I get offered the new job I want, cause it will
mean no more conventions to attend while planning these events!):
The location for the event is Valley Motors in Cockeysville, MD, which is on
the upper side of the Baltimore Beltway. Here are directions:
Here are more specific ones:
I-95 (north or south.. depending on where you are coming from) to I-695 West
(towards Towson) to I-83 North, to exit 17 Padonia Rd. (east). Take a right
off
the exit, and at the third traffic light, take a left onto York Road. Valley
Motors is about a 1/4 mile on the left side... you can't really miss it.
The address and phone number is:
Valley Motors
9800 York Road
Cockeysville, MD 21030
410-666-7777
Our contact person is Bob Bell (New Car Sales Manager).
The event will kick off around 6 pm with road tests (without sales pitches)
from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., on various models, including A4s (1.8 or 2.8,
5-speed or tip, there is no idea what will be in stock at the time), ands
A6s and maybe a Passat.
Jim Griffin figured out an agenda that should go something like this:

7:00 - 7:15 p.m. - Refreshments/socializing/name tags
7:15 - 7:30 p.m. - Intro
7:30 - 8:00 p.m. - Club discussion:

QCUSA?
                            - Discussion regarding election of Officers
                            - Track events
                            - Social events
                            - Marketing (Newsletter, webpage)
                            - Membership (Increasing member base etc.)

   From Jim's private stock:

                            - The Need for Speed: Unfair Advantage
                            - The Need for Speed: Driving on the Autobahn
(commentary
                                 with Hans Stuck)
9:15 - 9:30 p.m. - Closing remarks; set next meeting? Meeting adjourned.
9:30 - ? p.m. - Stay-after socializing (i.e. check out each other's
cars... or head
                                to local brew pub?)
Sound good? So far we have about 13 or so people in attendance.
I think we all realize that it is tough to get to Upper Baltimore at rush
hour, so this is assuredly not going to be the place we always meet. Jim and
I had a really ood discussion today with ideas for spring events (fun runs
on local roads, meetings at parks so the who fam-damily can attend, etc).
This is just a good event, I feel (I think Jim does too) to get introduced
to a dealer who wants to help out, maybe help us "organize" as a club, etc.
But this can be discussed on Friday. Also, we will hopefully bounce around
web page ideas, and set up a meeting for the web-savvy among us to get
together to do a web page for the group, instead of a print newslatter. I'd
like to get that group together in Late or mid-february.
Anyhow, hope to see you all there, and thanks to Jim for organizing it and
Mark Quinn for his name tags.
