I think what we are really looking for here is light weight combined
with high strength. Have not carbon-fibre drive-shafts been around
since the ur-q Pro-Rally days of the mid 80s?

My question:  Is it possible that reduced wind-up really be what
we're looking for here?  I.e. direct and immediate power and torque
transfer to the wheels...in which case torsionally rigid driveshafts
would have a major advantage?
