Front Sway bar on 4kQ, sizes

hey all, i was wondering if it is in fact true that there is a larger 
front sway bar on late model 85 cars and newer than on the earlier 
models...and if so, what would be the benefits and drawbacks from 
retrofitting it on an 85 car...is there one on the rear as well?
