Re: 90 V8Q "Surging"



If you were to take your car to our local Audi dealer in Inverness (Scotland) as
we did they would tell you it was a "characteristic" of the V8!  Another dealer
thought it was the lamda probe, another investigated the fuel pressure, found it
was too high and decided the fuel injector rails needed replaced at great cost.
Eventually it turned out to be a bad earth between the gearbox and engine ECU so
that somehow the timing was being retarded.  If you take the car to a dealer
they will probably just start replacing every part on the car right down to the
ashtrays in order to track down the problem.
