Roughly, 4-5 months ago an incident occurred in Ohio I think where the driver
got out of the Suburban he was driving and the passenger got out and opened
fire on the trooper from about 15 feet. Trooper opened fire and the suspects got
away. Standard Operating Procedure in most states is to have the drivers/ passengers remain
in the car, for both the officers and drivers/passengers sake. Let the officer control the
situation, cause if the officer feels threatened incidents like what happened to you occur.
Incidentally, if you ever decide to travel back to Maine, there is an OUTSTANDING Rt. 302
that is a great drive.

Eastwood Company has a dye penetrent kit ($25?) that you spray directly on components.
Spray the penetrent on, wipe off, spray another dye on and wipe off. You should see any
cracks. I think they have a web site.
Had the same problem with a GM 3.1 V6 engine in my 1992 Rodeo. Intake manifold went out.
Replaced it. Had the heads pressure tested, valves ground since it was off and put a new gasket set it.
BUT when the gasket blew the coolant mixed with the oil and six months later I had to rebuild
the lower end with a new crank. The longer you postpone it, the more serious the damage.
I found out later that these engines (GM 3.1) had a major problem with blowing these gaskets.
I blew mine. And people wonder why I hate General Motors!!
A question for the list. Have a 94 100S wagon with the V6. Leaking oil from the pan or front seal.
Anybody else have the problem? How hard was the fix? I know that there is a tech bulletin on it on
the AllData disk and from Audi, but I'm looking for comments. Also the bublb for the temp. display and the dash
went out, my wife would like me to replace, so how difficult is it?
Also excuse my ignorance but what are UFO brakes and an MC engine?
