Re: windshield pitting

You are making me cry...  My (Colorado) windshield looks like it has been
bombed with pits, stars, cracks, etc.  And, if I get a new one, I know it
will get a crack within months.  Now let's talk about cracked headlights,
chipped paint and sandblasted front trim.  Can you hear the teeth grinding??
Anyway, I think that Audi windshields hold up better than most and so does
the paint.  My understanding is that the small pitting you see in relatively
benign areas of the country is caused by the fact that glass becomes etched
by water over time.
