Re: rear defrost not working




     You might also check the connection- both physical and electrical-
     between the actual wires and the 'painted' grid on the window.  On my
     old 5kT I measured a huge drop across the spade connector ('glued' on
     the window) and the painted grid.  You can buy two types of repair for
     this a rear defroster- copper type paint for fixing the grid on the
     window, or a conductive glue that is the bridge between the actual
     wire and the grid.  I got the latter, removed the ~1.5" metal spade
     connector that is glued to the window, sanded both the metal piece and
     the window grid shiny, and re-glued it.  Viola!  It has worked for 3
     years now.
