Trip Computer on 92+ 100's

I origionally posted this problem as the dash lights which illuminuate
the trip computer not working when I turn on the headlights.  Well, now
the data is going crazy, e.g., 7.2 bar and 68 mpg readings! I took it to
the dealer (Jim Ellis in Atlanta) and of course, they said I needed a
new trip computer.  My question is, I am I dealing with two issues, the
lights and the corrupt data, or does a bad trip computer make the lights
go crazy.  Appreciate any feedback.
