Re: Boston Area Dealers and Loaner Cars
# Several years ago I took my 5KS into Clair for the transaxle fluid recall.
# They loaned me out a new '93? 100s with only 250 miles for the day! I was
# impressed but that was the only time I ever needed a loaner. Will I get a
# similar loaner when I go in for the airbag recall? I doubt it b/c qlisters
# are getting econoboxes when they go in for recalls and the like.
#
... I'd consider myself lucky! When I bought my QTC for a not insignifi-
cant sum from a dealer back in '86 it needed to have a couple days work
done to it. I asked for a loaner and got a beat up Chevy ??? (I know the
Pontiac version was called the T1000). I remember the weather was not
too different than it is right now ... I remember thinking at the time
that if the government really wanted us to drive 55 MPH they should force
us all to drive these things ... I was truly afraid to go faster than 60!
Here's hoping that they've got an A8Q sitting idle on the lot that they'll
give you for an "extended demo." It can happen ... when I had my Beemer
in to have some bodywork [no, I didn't drop it :] fixed I actually got to
ride a new K1200RS for a few days ... they hadn't even been available in
the US that long at the time ...
Cheers!
