According to the Bentley diagram, the 84-85 5000T use a external hose
from the intercooler that runs back to the idle stabilizer valve and
splits off to the Waste Gate. There is also a small hose that splits off
and connects to the cylinder head (air shroud injectors?).
This external hose is similar in function to the internal passage that
is cast into the intake manifold on the later 5000T/Q engines and
supplies non throttled air under pressure to open the waste gate and to
supply non-throttled air to the idle stabilizer valve when the engine is
idling.
Some of the later 5000T/Q use this same style of intercooler, but have a
rubber cap on this port on the intercooler.
