One of the easiest ways, depending upon where you live is to drive at about

 40mph on a beach in Washington State, hit a gully...and it will be
auto-magically
removed.   When you need to put it back on, tie it up with some nylon cord
and
then attempt to cross a river in Exeter, NH....that will save you from ever
 having
to do this job again.  I have found these methods to be most successful.
