I also think 130 degrees is pretty high oil temperature for sustained cruising.
The only time I have had either of our 200 quattros at that temperature is when
driving flat out for a considerable duration on the autobahn.  I have only ever
had one vehicle reach 150 and that was my Ur quattro when the waxstat which
allows the oil to flow to the oil cooler became stuck.  Is your "sustained
crusing" always well into three figures Phil?
