This is incorrect.  The V8 was based on the 84-91 5000/100/200 chassis
with a V8 32 valve engine.  The S4 was based on the 92-94 100 chassis
and has a 5-cylinder turbo 20 valve engine.  The V8 was introduced to
the US for model year 1990 and the S4 was 1992.

The S4 became the S6 when Audi changed the 100 to A6 in 1995.
