Yup, they can be changed without removing the motor. My crank was
not machined so I assume my mech took the innitiative to make sure
no machining was needed. He told me he'd bring in some engineering
guys to measure the wear and see if thicker bearing shells would
be needed and whether machining was necessary. I forgot to ask him
how the crank was worn. Will do that on Monday. I haven't had any
rattles or "clacks" since the bearings went in on Thursday.
