I believe that one or two UK owners do just that, one of them even replaces
it with a dummy relay.
Years ago my father owned a Rover P4, to which he had added a simple switch
in the power feed to the fuel pump. My Ur-q had a similar switch fitted by a
previous owner, if I start the car with the switch open it runs for about 2
seconds and then cuts out. The only problem with it is that anyone who knows
the model of car is likely to wonder what the switch is for and might work
it out, so I'm thinking of adding another one, this time in the cables
running to the inlet manifold earth connections.
