Since I have been flooded with similar questions, I feel the need to
remind the beginning of the topic:

On 5 November 97 (Good Lord!) I have ordered a set of black cloth sport
seats (Cobra Daytona II) from a UK outfit. They do have my Cobras in
stock but still
have trouble locating the bolt-on sliding kit for an A4.

OTOH a local bone yard had a coupla '85 5000, so I can get the seat
bases reasonably cheap. If they bolted onto the A4 floor pan, I was
gonna
separate their bases from the cushions,
buy some steel angle @ Home Depot, fabricate improvised mounting rails
for the Cobras pick up points and weld them onto the 5000 seat frames.

The idea was to mount racing seats on the A4 using the rail kit from a
butchered 4000/5000 seat.

I know, the majority of the list long timers think that I am nuts coz in
my 200 with the sport seats I tore off the perfect black leather only to
replace it with beige cloth upholstery and got rid of all the lacquered
wood trim; on the A4 I have already gotten rid of the all-red '98 tail
lenses in favour of the '97 red/orange ones.

But although my taste is not exactly mainstream, even I wouldn't be
crazy enough as to replace the brand new '98 black leatherette A4 seats
(admittedly rather user-hostile and hated by me and especially by my
wife) with the worn blue cloth '85 4000 seats.
