Sticky calipers
Somebody please help me!!!! Back in July 96 I bought a Dodge Ram
Sport, and somewhat abandoned my Pearl 87 5kcstq, (I'm sorry, I'm
sorry). Well, it's been parked under a tree in Georgia for about a year
now with an occasional blast aroun the block now and then. It needs a
new rack and some struts, (imagine that!) I really miss driving this
car. A few months ago I jump started it and took it for a nice blast on
some country roads, but to my surprise my front left caliper began to
bind. It's fine for a while, but then it won't let go if I brake after
about 20 min. of driving. It doesn't apply full braking force as I can
still drive it, but not without that terrible smell of baked brake pad
and higher rpm's. My brake fluid and Pentosin levels are fine, however
I will get a "brake" light if I stand on the pedal at idle.
Does anyone have any suggestions on why this may be?
