Crazy Speedo. . . fix found
After months of tracing contacts on PCB, looking for the
problem with my 89 100 speedo (works when cold,
intermittent failure as car warms up, then either dies or works),
I threw up hands and gave it to the mechanic today. 1.5hrs later
problem solved. A solder point behind one of the speedo's 4 prongs
(that plug into PCB), had a hair-line gap causing intermittent
contact/failure.
So when the speedo goes nuts, don't forget to check solder
points on the plug-in prong contacts.
