Hmm. But I've become a convicted (er, make that "confirmed") used-car
buyer. My wife, however, is fond of saying "why not buy a _new_ one?",
whenever she can no longer take the prolonged, agonizing quest for _the
right_ car. She's at that point now, and the "quest" has been going on for
only two months!

I've started to pay some attention to '94 100CS quattros, which were
available with 5 spd tranny. I drove one briefly last week and sorta liked
it, although I'm sure the 30-valve A6 would be more spirited. If one can
live without the extra "spirit" of the 30V engine, what else do the more
recent A6 models offer compared with the '94 100? The newer quattro system,
and...? Oh yes, personality!
