Although this is not the place we should start a thread on Probe/MX-6, they
were --at least initially--far from "identical" except in the loosest
sense: both were Mazda-built sport coupes based on the 626 platform. The
distinctive features at the outset in '88 were significant--both
cosmetically and in respect to performance. Of course significance _is_ in
the eye of the beholder. ;-)

To swing back (a tiny bit) to Audi relevance: What _about_ coupes? Will
they  return to the Audi family in the forseeable future? Is the coupe
style becoming  pretty much passe' for today's new-car buyers, or simply
not justifiable for the Audi market?
