BTDT. I was lucky. When I broke that bolt, there was still about .25" of the
bolt sticking out of the block, but inside of the oil pump housing. Although
there was no way to grab this part directly, I was able to drive a 4" piece of
thin wall steel tubing over what was left and then turn it out with a small
pipe wrench . That turned a potential four hour job into a ten minute
annoyance. That piece of tubing holds a place of honor in my tool box...
To anyone putting on the idler pulley: FIRST TAP ON THE IDLER, THEN INSTALL
THE BOLT.
