4ks starter problem

Hi all,

So, my car ('86 4ks) generally starts ok (though could be better) but
a new problem has developed. (can't seem to keep my head above maintenance
water on this beast)  After starting, I always here a brief, but alarming
metallic clatter.  Sounds like the starter is taking too long to disengage
and maybe I'm hearing starter gear teeth nashing with their counterparts
on the motor.

Anyone know if that sounds like the right diagnosis?  BTDT?  Replaced,
repaired, degunked, cleaned, or rebuilt the starter to solve the problem?
