S4 Tranny Whine found.

The mystery is solved to the tranny noise on my 94 S4. First gear
surface was severely chewed up. In fact Rusnak Audi who did the teardown
found that the car had had it's clutch changed at 32K miles under
warranty. Apparently the previous driver was not so nice to this car. In
fact the damage to the tranny was so severe that Audi factory advised
replacement and not rebuilding. Audi was gracious enough to copay a
substantial amount of the gearbox under warranty-1 year out of warranty.

Thanks to Eric Bjorlin,  the local Audi Factory service rep, and Audi of
course.
Also, the Dual Mass flywheel needed to be replaced. The springs were
shot.
I did not know this car used this flywheel system. No more springs in
the clutches.
The lower control arm bushings were broke. Amazing on such a low mileage
car.
Had them replaced. So hopefully I will have the car back soon.

BTW, the gearbox was shipped from Germany "Dry". Needed 3 liters of Audi
G60 Synth lube at only $25.00 a Liter.
