20v ur-quattro differences (long)
i got into this after being asked by a lister the difference between the
20v and a wr in the front suspension, and well, so i was bored the other
night, and i went through the complete ur-q parts fiche, and catalogued
the differences between the 20v and the 10v models. the result is not
exhaustive, but rather comprehensive...
points of interest:
1) the 20v has a different body shell, and front floor pan (cats), with
different front l+r wheel arches
2) front and rear track control arms (wishbones) on the 20v have
changed.
3) gearbox is different, with different gears
4) oil cooler, intercooler and aux radiator are different.
5) option of a lsd for the kw (sport quattro) the "alz"
6) the use of extensive front bracing for the sport
7) the sport (kw) uses the same pistons as the wr and mb, but not the
rr.
8) reference is made to an "allum engine wr". they're out there
somewhere folks!
my chassis is an "85-l", engine an "rr", gearbox and "avc" and diff an
"rdv"
in the detailed list below, only differences are noted (along with the
part number).
