RE: Ur quattro - pinking
I invested in the IA mod quite a number of years ago when they
were the only game in town. I have many years of excellent service
with it and overall I am very pleased with the IA mod. Given the time and
place I would do the IA mod again without hesitation. If I were doing
the mod today and wanted to 'tinker' with the F/TCU then I might
make a different decision what with all the information and multiple
options and approaches now available. At this point my ultimate
goal is just to drive and enjoy the automobile. I will check out the
site for my own education and possible future use on this or other
vehicles, but, right now my wrenching time is totally consumed
trying to get the 4KQ RR car ready for the first event of the season.
Thanks!

Glen (and others) ... if you are running a tweaked non-standard engine,
why rely on Ned's mods? Robert Houk has spent the better part of his
life figuring out how the code on the MAC 02 works so he can sell his
car ... ;-)
If you check out the following web site:
http://www.tiac.net/users/rdh/http/Urq/index.htm
you will find a wealth of information about how you can customize your
own ECU for your engine. Bob has even provided the code that he has
refined for his own car. I for one truly appreciate the fact that folks
like Bob Houk and Scott Mockry are so forthcoming with the fruits of
their labors!
VdT!
