Mediocre cars?   ...guess what car made C&D's(or was it R&T?) Car of the
Year award in 1987?  No Honda, that's for sure.

Let me give you a small clue:

Yep.  5000CSTQ was the 87 car of the year.  Probably the main reason I have
one now...Mom+Pop decided to ignore the horrible electrical problems in our
84 5000S(which, any way you cut it, was a horrible lemon) not to mention
the _huge_ trade-in and "loyalty" bonus Audi dealers were giving out at the
time.  If you had an Audi, traded in the old one you got one hell of a
sweet deal on a new one...too bad they didn't spring for the Q system.  Ah.
Can't have everything.

C&D(R&T) was right about highway acceleration...70mph is right at that
engine's sweet spot(a la 3000rpm) and 90-100mph is but a short blip away...
