RE:Hot times under the hood

just to save a little time, I
started to ease the old pump out of it's rubber mounts. Nice and slow.
It was almost clear when the inlet tube of the pump simply snapped off
as though it was made of pasta. Hot water everywhere instantaneously.
I undertook evasive maneuvers, i.e. disorderly retreat, but still got

a bit. What a damned idiot!

Dewitt,
I did exactly the same thing to my pump when doing a clutch. Leaned
against the hoses while reaching the bell housing bolts and BAM! no more
turbo cooling pump. Upoon close inspection of the pump and subsequent
dismantle I found that the impeller was frozen. It is magnetic coupled
so even when the motor was turning no fluid was moving.
