here's another btdt for the rad replace:
inspect the coolant reservoir carefully while it is out.
mine started leaking (the threads were too munched for the cap to hold
pressure at 100C) soon after replacing the radiator.
it was not the original (had a late 88 stamp on it.)
i snagged a used one and it was close to splitting in several places and
had a web of cracks throughout. this was an original off a 86.
i ended up getting a new one, which is a universal fit model with extra
mounting tabs on it. i had to slightly trim one tab to prevent the fan
blade from tapping it while running. (there was clearance when turning
the blades by hand)
