A new-comer will respond to a new-comer:

"1" is front differential locked
"2" is rear differential locked

I only use them to get out of my driveway in snow and ice - they
work
quite well for that.  However, if you follow this "Torsen" thread
that has been recently woven, you will find that many click them
on for the fun of it.  When you get an owners manual you will be
much more illuminated.  Until you read it, I suggest you don't
use them - unless you are stuck in the mud or snow.

Seems someone was offering owners manuals - I presume
electronically -
for no cost here on the list recently - maybe they will chirp up.

As for the rack leak, I can't help you - I replaced the rack as
soon
as it started leaking (about 5 days after I bought it)
