How do you read 5k engine codes

<<Is there a way to read trouble codes on a 5kcst '87 without som real
fancy equipment?

Max 2* 5kcst>>

The car is designed to send the codes to the dash. The "Check Engine"
light will be made to blink. There are two ways to start the fault check for
the '87s. First, start the car, drive it around for a few minutes -- include
at least one run past 3000 rpm. Bring the car to a stop at the shop, garage,
or other safe place -- but do not shut the engine off.
Under the hood, near the fire wall on the driver's side is a black box
with ahinged top. Open the (Pandora's) box. You will notice a bunch of fuses
and several relays. One of the relays has a place in the top of it for a
fuse, should be marked "211" on the side. Plug a fuse into that slow for a
minimum of 5 seconds. Remove the fuse. Then watch the dash and start
counting the blinks of the Check Engine light. There will be one long blink
to signal the start of the count. Then there will be four numbers in
sequence. If you get 4444, then the car is not reporting any problems. If
you get a trouble code, check Scott's list for the meaning.
(http://www.teleport.com/~scottmo/trouble.html). If you get a trouble code,
plug/unplug the fuse again and see if there is a second. Continue to
plug/unplug the fuse until you get 4444.

The second method of generating trouble codes is for when the car will
not start. Crank the engine for a minimum of 5 seconds, leave the ignition
on. Then proceed with the plug/unplug method.

Later.
