100e/ GT definition

Bottom line, the letters mean whatever marketing decided they should
mean.... Anyone remember when "GT" actually meant "grand touring"
instead of "hopped-up pony car"?

Hehehe... yeah, the good old days :) Not to be a pain in the ass, but I
think the 'GT' designation started in Italy and originally meant "Gran
Turismo". Americanized, Grand Touring followed. Does anyone know which car
first carried the GT ensignia? I had thought it was Italian, but could be
wrong.... Sorry for getting off the subject ;)
