Make mine a "Pure Fire Prizm" A4 Quattro with a few additions from Avant
Garde.
I have see similar products and they are really impressive! Makes the metal
flakes and candy paints seem old technology by comparison. This is the same
sort of paint that went on the two thousand (I think) Mystic Mustangs that
Ford produced last year. Dupont is one manufacurer and it sells under the name
ChromaPremier or ChromaLusion. They had some samples on display at a show I
went to this past summer, and under the mid-day sun they were drawing people
in from all over the show grounds. In speaking to the guy at the booth I found
out that it comes in about twenty different "hues" however the paint itself
has no pigment and instead uses metal oxides to create a sort of prism effect.
Price at that time was about $350 a pint .......yes..... a pint .......(plus
top coats) if memory serves.
