All the back and forth aside, it seems that the "fine print" is that the
shocks are guaranteed for life - in the car they were insatlled in and
only for the original purchaser.  Seems reasonable if it's stated
clearly.  It's not "forever", it is for a defined lifetime.  Which could
be your entire life if you keep the car they're on.
