Re: quattro-digest V4 #1834

oi guys, you can't have it both ways...

you have said that the torsen can bite, and it sooooo scary that audi wouldn't
dare use it for racing. tried it probably, but no good....

after proof that they did use it, you're now saying that the torsen would be
different anyway, so it doesn't really matter? of course it would! so would
the engine, gearbox, brakes, seats, radiator, oil cooler, intercooler, end the
bleeding door seals. did audi ever race a saloon off the showroom floor? yeah
right...

give us a friggin break!

what we're talking about is the "bite" or lack thereof in the torsen. audi has
used than in racing and so one would assume, is comfortable with the "bite", or
they found none...

i am certainly much more confortable with the torsen than the snake bite that
is the open centre diff in the generation 1 system. now that system did bite
me, and made me lock the little sucker as soon as the going looked vaguely like
turning fast/rough...

my audi's can certainly bite the unwary. all it takes is the usual combination
of speed, ignorance and tetesterone, and voila, snake bite cocktail...
