I know this is a little off the subject, but any info regarding the 
triple z's after the first 3 letters in a VW/Audi vin?

I have heard that this denotes something special, a car that gets 
non-standard specifications while going down the assembly line...

My Golf syncro has this, as does a friend's. His is a factory "one-off", 
and mine is from a production run of 4000.
